This brings us on to.....
Getting Here
Beveree is well served by public transport with the National Rail station a 10 minute walk from the stadium. There is a half hourly service from London Waterloo which takes around 40 minutes on the Shepperton Branch, main stops enroute include Clapham Junction, Wimbledon and Kingston. However always double check the National Rail planner for any potential delays or engineering works.
There are 3 local bus services within easy reach of the ground. The 111 (Kingston to Heathrow) and 216 (Kingston to Staines) both have stops on Station Road whilst the R68 (Hampton Court Station to Kew) is a 5 minute walk away and has stops in Twickenham and Richmond).
Inside the Ground
On entering Beveree through the turnstiles your first stop should always be the Beavers Trust Shed located just to the left of the entrance. Here you can purchase one of our excellent matchday programmes for £3, enter the Golden Goal with a chance to win £80 and learn more about the Trust and what we do to support the club and work for the fans.
The Fanzone is located right by the turnstiles with plenty of seating. In this area there is the Club Shop for all your Beaver related merch, an outside bar serving refreshing beers & soft drinks and, usually, the Dough Shack pizza van and a Barista Coffee van. In the corner of the Fanzone are male and female toilets.
The main clubhouse, The Beaver Lodge, has a wide selection of drinks and if you require a pint of the Irish black stuff or a fermented apple based beverage then this is where you need to go. There is plenty of seating, multiple TV’s and you can’t miss the excellent mural in the back bar. Male, Female and Disabled toilets are also located in the Lodge.
Serving burgers, chips, drinks and all manner of good stuff, the club kitchen is also accessed from the Fanzone where you can pick up your pre or mid-match grub!
Beveree has cover on all 4 sides and 3 stands in which you can sit so there is plenty of viewing points around the ground to cover you for all weather possibilities! At the Beaver Lodge end there is the Alan Simpson OBE Stand with 100 seats named after our legendary late President, and affording excellent views of Beveree, it is a popular place to sit and watch the game.
The Main Stand includes a large, covered terrace and a 200 seated stand on the halfway line where the press box is also situated, this is also where the disabled seats are located. Beyond that is another seated stand, known as the Green Stand, on account of it’s green seats! In the far corner there are further toilet facilities and the Thirsty Beaver Bar in case you need a refreshment following the long walk down!
Behind the far goal is the Keith Hussey Stand which now houses the new scoreboard which means there is no excuse for not knowing what the score is and how long is left! Keith was a Trust member and founder of our Supporters team Beavers FC.
The School Side, named due to its closeness to Twickenham Prep school, is mostly single terrace aside from a small, covered area. This side of the ground also houses the media gantry and dugouts. Stand on this side to gain tactical insight and learn fruity new language!
In the extremely rare event of segregation, then there is a second set of turnstiles between the Main Stand and Green Stand with away fans allocated the Green and Keith Hussey Stands. Away supporters should walk past the main turnstiles following the back of the main stand to gain access to their area for segregated games.
Visiting Hampton
Now, whilst we want you to spend as much time in the ground as possible to truly soak in that special Beveree atmosphere we do understand that you may want to get a more rounded Hampton experience to fully understand the joys of living in TW12 so below are a list of local pubs, restaurants and places of interest that can enhance your visit. Whilst some of these are favourites of ours we’re not offering recommendations as such, you will just have to try them out for yourselves!
Food & Drink
The Bell on the River, Thames Street, Hampton. Gastropub serving a wide variety of beers and good pub grub.
The Jolly Coopers, High Street, Hampton. Small pub with large outside area, extensive tapas and lunch menu available.
The Worlds End, Station Road, Hampton. Locals’ pub with an excellent beer garden. Has just started serving food and drink.
Chino’s Café, Station Road, Hampton. Local café with a full menu and all-day breakfast option available.
Ruchi’s, Station Road, Hampton. Indian restaurant open from 5pm so good for midweek pre- or post-match meals.
Monaf’s, Station Road, Hampton. Favoured restaurant of the late Alan Simpson OBE and only a short walk from the train station.
Marini’s, Station Road, Hampton. Take Away Fish and Chips from a long standing family business in the village.
In addition to these over the Railway Bridge on Ashley Road you have The Village Grill, Hampton Spice, Grind & Steam Coffee House, Taste Café, The Cavern Bakery & Cornicello Pizzeria.
Basically, in Hampton, if you can’t find somewhere to eat or drink you’re not really trying!
Culture
The most famous local landmark, aside from Beveree, is of course Hampton Court which is open all year round. Favoured home of the most well known of Tudor’s Henry VIII’s. If you’re visiting over the Christmas period there is also an ice skating rink to visit.
The Palace backs on to Home Park and Bushy Park, both royal parks affording some excellent walks and time for peaceful contemplation before the thrust and parry of National League Football.
On Thames Street there is David Garrick’s Temple to Shakespear which is open on Saturday’s for events and opposite Garrick House.
A bit further afield you can visit the Kempton Steam Museum with original Steam engines and nearby is the Hampton & Kempton Waterworks Railway.
Situated, as we are, in the London Borough of Richmond Upon Thames there is the home of Rugby at Twickenham Stadium which has it’s own museum and both Richmond and Twickenham have a large selection of pubs, bars and restaurants. In addition Richmond has recently gained interest as the home of Ted Lasso and AFC Richmond, the successful Apple+ show. You can even go on Ted Lasso themed walks, apparently!
We hope you enjoy your visit to Beveree and you can be assured of a warm welcome at The Beavers Trust shed.
